Biographical Note

I forgot to explain that while the biographical note does not need too many supplementary details, you do want to represent what your primary interests are even if they are not directly feeding into your career.

Using the example I stated in class, my flute experience is significant if it will be an abiding interest throughout my life rather than an activity I participated in from fifth through ninth grades.

What "side" interests you have will be important when we create correspondence and subject notes as I expect those interests to be represented.

Another way to think about the details you will insert into your biographical note is to ask yourself if these activities are a significant part of your ongoing life and if you plan to continue them after college, rather than if they are just relevant to your career.
