Group Project

For the academic article group projects, you will be split into one of four groups based on your last name. On Thursday, you will come to class having read the article assigned to your group (all are accessible via JSTOR) and, together, your group will 1. summarize the article and 2. evaluate the article. For the purposes of this assignment (unlike a regular paper!) I want you to spend more time on the summary.

Your presentation should give your classmates and I a strong understanding of the article's content. I do not have a time limit on how long you must present, nor do I want to specify how you present the content and evaluation. You can have each member discuss a portion of the article or each member can discuss one theme or issue. Or you can take another approach entirely.

Your classmates and I will then ask your group questions on the basis of your presentation, so be able to defend and explain both your summary and your evaluation. I will be circulating on Thursday to help if needed.

This assignment is a response to the request for more group work and more time working on reading comprehension!
